‎‎In this 11 week live course, you will learn low-poly 3D modeling and create and texture your own assets. You will learn tools such as loop cuts, inset, mirror modifier, and bevels as well as understand poles, surface normals, subdivision, sharpening edges, and surface quality.

Students will also learn how to UV map and UV unwrap their models. Students will texture their models learning about albedo, specular, metallic, normal, and alpha maps. You will also learn how to put these models to use in Unity so you can use them in your own games or metaverse worlds.

Course Prerequisite: This course assumes no prior 3D modeling or Blender experience.

Overview

In this course, Introduction to 3D Modeling with Blender, you will learn how to use the Blender software along with several useful plugins . You will build your own 3D models that you can use when developing your own games or worlds in the XR Application Development pipeline. You can also sell your assets on various asset stores such as the Unity Asset Store. You will learn how to navigate the Blender interface, follow the modeling workflow, understand 3D modeling best practices, and create 3D models. By the end of the program, students will have built a minimum of five models to their portfolios.

Outcome Upon Graduation

Students will be able to model their own low-poly models for use in their own worlds or games. Students will also be familiar with the Blender software, some helpful Blender add-ons, and the basic workflow of 3D modeling.

Prior experience requirements: No previous modeling or Blender experience is needed to be successful in this course

In this 11 week live course, you will learn low-poly 3D modeling, and create and texture your own assets. You will also learn how to put these models to use in Unity, so you can use them in your own games or VR worlds.

Outcome: Students will have created at least 5 low-poly models and be familiar with Blender and basic 3D modeling workflow.
